2022 was another fruitful year, consolidating the recovery of activities from 2021.
In addition to our strong quantitative indicators, our researchers have regularly received qualitative awards that reflect their successes in research, teaching, and collaborative research with socio-economic partners. A selection of these achievements is presented in this activity report.
While large-scale projects are conducted within our components, we also support smaller projects that are de-risked step by step. Specifically, in contractual research with the socio-economic world, we currently have 337 ongoing contracts. The role of Carnot 3BCAR is to enable any type of entity to engage or scale up in the bioeconomy across our three main application areas: bioenergy, biomolecules, and bio-based materials.
Finally, 2022 allowed us to prepare for the future with a special internal seminar dedicated to young researchers of 3BCAR. These meetings fostered new transversal links between all our components, whether research laboratories or technological resource centres, facilitated by recent arrivals who were previously unacquainted. This seminar concretely led to the funding of four additional resource projects, which you can find in the following pages.
I wish you an insightful exploration of our 2022 activities.
