Production and fractionation of Camelina sativa seeds from lines enriched in long-chain monounsaturated fatty acids.
Context
Camelina oil is particularly valued for its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which are promising precursors for the synthesis of hydroxylated fatty acids and polyols.
Objectives
This project aims to assess the potential of camelina oil for industrial applications. Three key areas are being investigated: (1) evaluating the feasibility of accumulating novel lipids within the plant, (2) developing extraction and formulation methods for the oils, and (3) exploring the synthesis of hydroxylated fatty acids.
Expected results
• Selection of Camelina Varieties with High Oleic Acid Content • Development of an Optimized Extraction Method for Camelina Seed Oil
