VALEORIS

Integration of biomolecule extraction into bioenergy production.

Biomolécule

Context

One of the current barriers to the deployment of biorefineries, particularly in the bioenergy sector, is the lack of economic viability. Therefore, it is essential to develop biomass valorization schemes aimed at optimizing resource utilization and its various fractions, thereby increasing the value of final products.

Objectives

The VALEORIS project proposes the development of an innovative “material + energy” valorization concept for co-products from the food industry, specifically bran and straw, combining the extraction of high-value molecules with bioenergy production.

Expected results

Valorize bran and straw through the extraction of high-value molecules and bioenergy production, notably by coupling mechanical pretreatment with enzymatic processing.
