About us
A network of laboratories and technical centers at the forefront of research to drive innovation.
A R&D network for innovation of bioeconomy companies
The Carnot 3BCAR supports companies (start-ups, SME, ISE, group…) in the development of innovation in the fiels of bioenergies, biomolecules and bio-based materials.
Innovate and support the emergence of the bioeconomy through biotechnologies and green chemistry.
The Carnot 3BCAR, one of the five Carnot led by INRAE, is a structured network of 18 R&D entities from laboratory to pilot scale. Its purpose is to facilitate relations between public research entities and companies, with a view to developing innovations through technology transfer and contractual research.
The Carnot 3BCAR offers an integrated, multidisciplinary range of skills, mobilizing biotechnologies and green chemistry to help companies innovate in the fields of bioenergies, biomolecules and biobased materials. Our skills range from biomass production and biorefinery to functional properties.
The Carnot 3BCAR secures access to research for companies by implementing an ISO 9001 certified contractual process since 2015.
Fields of expertise
The Carnot 3BCAR supports companies (start-ups, SME, ETI, group…) in the development of innovation in the fields of bioenergies, biomolecules and bio-based materials.
Bioenergies
Bioenergies are defined as alternative renewable energy derived from biomass, including thermal, electrical and mechanical energies
Biomolecules
Biomolecules are chemical compounds found in living organisms and are mainly composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus.
Biobased materials
Biobased are derived from biomass and can be used as raw materials in construction and decoration products, furniture and building materials.
